In Masaur Emoto’s book “The Hidden Messages in Water” he relates an experiment conducted with rice and water. Families who participated put rice and water in three jars. Each day the family members said “thank you” to one jar of rice, “you fool” to the second jar of rice, and completely ignored the third jar. The “thank you” jar started to ferment with a mellow smell like malt. The “you fool” rice rotted and turned black. The ignored rice also rotted and turned black before the “you fool” rice did. Emoto’s conclusion: “To give your positive or negative attention to something is a way of giving energy. The most damaging form of behavior is withholding your attention.”
Just yesterday a friend of mine was telling me about a teenager he knew years ago—a great kid whose adoptive mother completely ignored him. He killed someone in his teens and went to prison, and when he got out, he killed another person and is now in prison for life.
